Beseeching
eyes on the screen
constrained by truculent hoods
share people’s dinners on earth
from
miserable thatched huts
deep in deserts streaming
and violated by a rain of fire
that
picture flies. it frightens
a dove as abducted by hawks
blackmailed as a war weapon
helmets
of sand searching
invade streets and yards
break in jealous rooms
abducted
he has a blind mouth
yearning to call out to life
thunders leak into the jail
jerky
sharp suffocated
a crack and a rattle of arms
no more evening prayers
the
prisoner longs for home
for feast for dinners, though anxiously
broken family and conversations
he
suffers secluded in the dark
where is salvation? he wonders
why is my destiny estinguished?
of
a sudden the night lights up
a vague mistery around
whilst the bombs cease beating
neither
rockets nor weapons go off
a comet in a pacific mantle
watches over that hamlet of mud
the
dull noises stop
a whimper reaches the jail
a chant of women follows
in a home ripped and trembling
a baby is born amidst dust
in hope the hostage calls for him.
