A
Night Flight
The
pilot flew and searched
his mission was to watch out
and control the oddities of the world
silent
the airplane eluded
rays eyes and stopovers
nor shadows or reflections or sounds
stealing
amidst thundering clouds
the night rushed in between the time zones
the Atlantic sleepless landed
at
countries of Europe shining
one trail of lights
noisy smoky crowded
heading
southward for Africa
forsaken in a dark thought
that seems to gather the dead
that
in a slow erosion describes
the destiny of nature offended
it is like humans resting and assailing
that
yet reappears in the shadows
even in a fat forest
and mars the animal law
to
the east the pilot tried
watching a perennial war
the restless night was still
suicidal
bombs in the crowd
chariots dashing at houses
ruins torments vengeance
over the wrecks of a hut exploded
the sudden signal of a star
lying on straw and debris
the
new-born baby of a young mother
whimpers smiles and promises
a host of bread to salvation
halt
machine-guns and stone-fights
break the news to the mighty ones
the airplane is turning into an archangel.
